Things change, as the saying goes. And never has that been more true for BMW and new BMW models than during the last few years. The big news on the minds of BMW fans in Sioux Falls and around the world is the German automaker's big announcement that it plans change up drive trains on many popular models.

More specifically, BMW will introduce front-wheel drive for future models. Calling this architecture the UKL, BMW is using the new setup to better compete in the premium compact vehicle market.

Concerned?

Let the us here at BMW of Sioux Falls assuage your fears by telling you that the last time BMW made a similar change (from rear-wheel drive to all-wheel drive) drivers and industry insiders quickly realized the switch greatly improved the already legendary BMW driving experience. BMW does not make these decisions lightly, and we're proud to report that the famed xDrive option will still be available for drivers in the snow belt.

The new UKL drive system will most likely be rolled under 12 new BMW models. Be sure to stay tuned to find out exactly which models as well as the official ETA of each.
