If you're considering getting behind the wheel of the 2012 BMW M5 for a test drive, but are waiting for that final encouraging nudge to do so, then BMW of Sioux Falls, serving the greater Sioux Falls area, is ready to inspire you.

A new ad for the stylish BMW model has made it's way on to the television screens of our Canadian friends. The ad shows the BMW M5 being "shot" (see accelerating) out of a makeshift barrel. Once it's up to speed, the M5 smashes through various obstacles with a magnificent level of detail thanks the slow motion of a high-speed camera.

First, the BMW M5 shoots right through a bright-red glass apple. As it hits the structure at 155 miles per hour, the glass slowly shatters, allowing every little detail to be seen in great clarity by the naked eye. It's truly a sight to behold, but it pales in comparison to what comes next.

After shooting straight through the Apple, without losing momentum mind you, the BMW M5 has some fun popping a few water balloons. It drives underneath three oversized ones that are filled to capacity. Even the slightest touch could pop them, sending gallons of water to the ground. As the BMW M5 passes under each one, the balloons burst. Large globes of water fall slowly to the ground, as we see that the M5 escapes without a drop falling onto it.

Finally, the BMW M5 reaches its target... which is literally a target. It smashes through the last obstacle with precision - a real bull's eye. Although it's somewhat of an exaggeration, it does show you what the BMW M5 has - power - and lots of it.

Carolyn Ave in Sioux Falls, SD for a test drive of your own (without smashing through various structures).
