The annual Automotive Brand Contest, marks a unique tradition in that it is the only nonaligned, international design competition for automakers, world-wide. And during each installment, the German Design Council awards deserving companies for their outstanding product and communication design, calling attention to the importance of brand design throughout the automotive sector.
It's truly an honor for an automaker to be recognized by the German Design Council, in this way, and even earning one award is impressive. However, never one to settle for just impressive, Bavarian automaker, BMW, this year took it a little further by not winning one, two or even three awards, but rather, 19.
That's right: BMW was recognized a whopping 16 times in the Automotive Brand Contest for the design of some of its incredible models like the BMW Z4, M6 Gran Coupe and 3 Series Gran Turismo.
Additionally, BMW Group also took home honors for some of its projects which were deemed winners in the architecture category, including the refurbishment and redesign of one of its brand stores in Paris, France.
Regarding other architecture projects, the German Design Council also noted the brand's Welt showcases which include: BMW M, BMW Individual, BMW i and commercials for the BMW 1 Series campaign.
