High performance goes across all of the new BMW lineup, and that's definitely the case with the M Performance brand. However, now we may see a new option in the mix: all-wheel drive.
Why is that?
To begin, it will allow BMW more options, and the appeal will widen, which is already popular in their own right. To solidify that people will have fun in them no matter where they are driving, adding this option makes a load of sense. Consider that those in more wintery areas would likely prefer an all-wheel drive platform that still gives them a sense of excitement over rear-wheel drive, where it can be tricky to navigate in snowy weather.
Should BMW push through with the idea, which is still being debated, we probably wouldn't see an AWD vehicle like the M5 or M6 until 2016 or 2017, when the next generation models would come out. It's something we're sure to follow on our blog so stay tuned for updates.
