Occasionally, automakers will not change concepts drastically before reaching production forms. However, while this can be a good, they can run the risk of breaking something that didn't need fixing in the first place.

BMW of Sioux Falls have never found ourselves disappointed with any new BMW model that has rolled out over the years. We were relieved when we heard the concept BMW X4 model didn't go through any major changes when it was turned into its production form.

The only minor changes from concept to production included a more detailed fascia's and different wheel design. In fact, with its signature roofline the way it was from concept, the BMW X4 was, and still is, almost a smaller-scale version of its SAV counterpart, the X6.

Are you surprised that the new BMW X4 was built on the identical platform as the X3? When compared to the X3, the X4 is a bit wider and lower and slightly more exclusive. Even further, comparisons between the X3 and X4 can be quite accurately compared to the relationship between the BMW X5 and X6.

As all of this is exciting to use, details regarding underpinning are not yet available for the BMW X4. We have heard news rustling around that there may be an M variant following the release of the base model.
