The manufacturers are mandated to fix the problem, or replace the vehicle model users may experience difficulties.

Reporting the problem

The driver first reports the problem to the safety and regulation authority. The complaint is then recorded in the database for future reference. If they receive similar reports from different people, an investigation is opened.

Investigation

At this stage, a thorough analysis is performed to ensure that the complaints are valid. It is at this stage that the safety authority decides to open an investigation.

Recalls

It is done after confirming a risk, and the vehicle has failed to meet specific standards. It is then decided what compensation should be given to the driver. Options may range from replacing or fixing the car.
