As a driver, it's important that you're very aware of your surroundings while on the road. In addition to watching out for other vehicles and pedestrians, you should be looking out for bicyclists that you're sharing the road with. Here are some helpful tips to keep everyone safe.
Try not to honk your horn at someone on a bike. Think about how loud your horn can be when you're outside of the vehicle. You could startle the bicyclist, causing them to fall or be put into danger.
Take an extra look around at intersections and around blind corners.
Don't forget that's it's perfectly legal for a bicyclist to be on the road with you. Treat them with the same respect you would give to other motorists.
