Driving in the snow in Sioux Falls can be difficult, but the job can be made easier if you have snow tires on your vehicle. There are a couple of different types of winter tires, and it's important to know the difference.

Studded snow tires used to be the norm on cars and trucks that had winter tires on them. These tires have little metal studs embedded in them that help with traction on snow and ice. Studded tires can damage pavement, and so they are strictly limited to the winter. Studless winter tires are much more common these days. These tires are made out of special rubber that stays flexible even when it's cold outside. That flexibility allows them to get better traction in snowy and icy conditions.

If you are thinking about getting winter tires for your vehicle, come to BMW of Sioux Falls and let us show you what we have available.
