It was back in May that we heard a rumor that the popular BMW 2 Series could transform into an Active Hybrid Tourer. While we never received confirmation as to if this could become a reality, we have learned that the BMW brand has been hard at work in developing a convertible version of the 2 Series, and it will debut at next month's Paris Motor Show. To tide us over until the convertible's big debut, the Bavarian automaker has treated us to a sneak peek of the model and released some exciting details about it. Check it out for yourself in the clip shared below.

The 2 Series convertible will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which churns out 240 horsepower and 255 lb.-ft. of torque. The sporty model is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and possesses the ability to sprint from zero-to-sixty mph in 5.7 seconds.

The 2 Series convertible has been priced to start at $38,850 and is slated to join the new BMW lineup in our Sioux Falls, SD dealership in early 2015. Stay tuned for updates!
